We’re taking our best-selling “How to Get a First-Class Seat for Less” report out of inventory this week.  So, in lieu of our regularly scheduled e-letters, I thought I’d pass along a few of its insider tips on how to get a first-class flight for less. Like how I found this flight from New York to the white sandy beaches of the Caribbean, in business class, on American Airlines for just $344 each way, when flights in coach on the same tested October dates start at $572.20, click here to see. Or how I found this deal on a business-class flight on United from Chicago to Europe’s most romantic and photogenic city, Paris, France for $2,611, when regularly advertised fares in business class start at $3,934 (a saving of over $1,300), click here to see. So how did I find these discount fares? This is one of the secrets we let out in our How to Get a First-Class Seat for Less report. Airlines often discount luxury seats in business and first class when business travelers aren’t traveling — it’s the business travelers that typically fill those seats.  So, rather than let these seats go empty, it opens the door for deep discounts for you. When are there lulls in business travel? Holidays and summer breaks are a good time to start watching for low fares, for sure. Business class on Air New Zealand, for instance, drops over $4,800 from Los Angeles to London in the summer.  (Note: Dates searched were June 6-15 compared to the same flights on May 2 –18).
