A big thanks to everyone who took the time to fill out this survey.

A whopping 30% of the people who responded said they’re here for a side income or income replacement. 22.8% said they want more freedom to work from home or simply be their own boss. And 16% said they’re here to see the world and travel free.

But a lack of time (say 20%) is getting in their way. As is a lack of finances and work obligations (30%).

Internally, confidence and not feeling “ready” is the number-one reason folks aren’t taking action (30%), followed closely by feeling overwhelmed (24%) and procrastinating (21%). And even another 24% wrote in separately to say they feel all these things together and not just one.

So here’s another resource that can help you achieve more in your life—and this one’s free…

Last year we interviewed a Life Coach on feeling “stuck” and I played the recording on our podcast. You can listen in here.

Here are the 3 ways she said to get “un-stuck”:

• Focus on things that are within your control.

For example, maybe you can’t buy the latest and greatest mirrorless camera right now… but you can start by improving your skills on any camera (or smartphone) you currently own.

Spending 10 minutes per day to learn something new is within your control… and it will pay off over time.

• Focus on your strengths rather than your weaknesses.

It worked for Tiger Woods, who achieved a lot of success in golf despite his weakness, which was difficulty chipping the ball out of sand traps. Rather than spending all of his time trying to improve that weakness, he focused on his greatest strength… his swing. Having a good swing meant he could avoid getting stuck in sand traps in the first place.

So, rather than focusing all of your energy on fixing something that’s difficult for you… concentrate on your strengths. This will help you enjoy the process.

Sometimes, we’re our own biggest critics. It helps to hear from others who are supportive, so go out and grab a cup of coffee with friends. Or, jump on the Great Escape Facebook page and post a message if you need help with something… or if you just want a bit of encouragement from others who have been in your shoes and know what it feels like when you’re just starting out.

Allegra did two back-to-back podcasts with us and the second one is here.

Listen today and combine these ideas with these other two ideas, also on our podcast…
