Take the Reader Survey: How did your stock photography do in 2014?

Maybe I’m weird, but I love making New Year’s Resolutions. It’s the perfect time to reset your thinking and get back on track towards your goals. With that in mind, let’s get back to basics. For the month of January, we’ll return to the aspects of a truly saleable stock photo… so that you can be sure to have your best year YET. Premium Members will get an extra treat this month, too, with an “open” Challenge theme, called “Best of the Best.” Meaning: Submit a photo of ANY subject… as long as it has the qualities of a saleable stock photo. Stock photographer Shelly Perry included plenty of examples of the top 10 qualities of a high-selling stock photo in your BSC Premium Roadmap. And since I want you to start the New Year off right, ALL Premium members who submit to this month’s Challenge will get a personal photo review — hooray! If you’re not a Premium member, I have something special for you, too. You can try Premium Membership for a full month for just $5 — an offer that ends next week — here. It’s more than worth it for the photo reviews, alone. And the Challenge starts TODAY. Try it out for $5 here. Here in the regular BSC newsletter, we’ll go over three ways to make your photos more saleable starting next week. In the meantime, I want to know: How did your stock photography do in 2014? Did you get accepted to a new agency? Make your first sales? Request your first check? Take a minute to fill out this quick Breakfast Stock Club reader poll and I’ll share the results after I tally them up. This will help me continue to design content that fits you and your goals. Here’s to a happy, healthy, creative, and lucrative 2015! — Bonnie Bonnie Caton Creator, Breakfast Stock Club P.S. Great news: We’re putting the finishing touches on a brand new “Hot Stock Photo Trends in 2015” guide, written by stock photographer Andrea Gingerich. It’s packed full of shoot ideas to make you more in the coming year. That’s FREE to all Breakfast Stock Club Premium members, and will be available on your Premium Member page next week. That means you can get it when you try out Premium Membership for just $5, here! Your Weekly Breakfast Dish The Latest from Your Breakfast Stock Club Facebook Page From Chris Lobsinger: Hi Everyone… I too just found your FB page and joined… LOOKING FORWARD to having a great NEW YEAR with you ALL… From Peggy Moloney Malburg: Just joined the club! Looking forward to a fun year. From Joy Ciaccio: Hi Bonnie, just found one of your photos from Photographer’s Life that was used for a story on organizing: you took pictures of bread ties wrapped around all the computer cords and labeled with “power,” “mouse,” etc. It was quite shocking to see them credit you and the website. Wonderful! From Theresa St John: So. 2015. I was going through all of the stock sites I am on, (happy dance!!) and then spent time looking over the rejection (ouchy!) reasons. I am going to work more on composition this year, as the 25% that get rejected on any one of the sites are because of that reason. I am going to make it my ‘project’, so I can get better at what I love to do most.
