As part of our special Holiday Travel Tips series, here’s tip #4:
Imagine the scene: You’ve just settled into your airplane seat, all your carry-on stashed neatly above you in the overhead bin. Half an hour into the flight, you hear the familiar rattle of the drinks trolley. You’d love a cold beer, right now. But wait…your credit card is buried in your backpack over your head. You’ll have to climb over the stranger in the aisle seat to go rummaging for your card. Much easier just to stay put…
Yes, I know what a pain it can be to have to dig out items from your purse when you need it. That’s why I recommend using a running wristband (the kind that comes with pockets) as a purse on your travels. You’ll have instant access to your cash and credit cards when you need it — and you can keep small valuables (keys, cards, etc.) in a safe place…right where you can see them.Running wristbands come in all shapes and sizes — some have pockets big enough to carry an iPhone. The Nike Arm Wallet for $15 is large enough to store a small phone along with other small items.
You can also get ones to fit your ankle…but these make for harder access (and might get you some weird looks on a plane).
