As part of our special Holiday Travel Tips series, here’s tip #7:
I only recently caught on to cross-packing. It’s not something you typically think about…until you’ve just touched down in another town and your bag doesn’t show…To reduce the risk of being left a day…or even more…without even a change of clothes, try cross-packing with your travel companion.
Simply set out everything you plan to take with you and give half to your friend to pack in his bag. He gives half his stuff to you. Make sure you both have at least one full outfit in each bag. Then, you hope that at least one of your bags makes it to the other side.
For best results, be sure to split your clothes — formal and casual — and toiletries across both bags.
