Five Odd Uses for a Mascara Brush
In the wintertime, I have a hard time battling static cling. Yesterday you heard a cool tip about using aluminum foil to reduce static on your clothing.
But what about your hair? I’ve found that a quick, easy way to tame static on my hair is to apply a little bit of clear mascara to unruly strands.
The mascara wand applies the gel evenly, and it never leaves your hair greasy. The best part is, it really holds in place all day, and the static won’t come back.
Plus, your mascara wand can do more than just tame your flyaway hairs.
Once the mascara tube is empty, you can use the wand for other things…
1. As jewelry cleaner. First, wash and dry the wand using warm soapy water or eye makeup remover. Soak your jewelry that needs to be cleaned in a jewelry cleaner of your choice. Then use your clean mascara brush to scrub the jewelry and wipe away dirt and grime.
2. Eyebrow brush. I know a lot of men think that only women brush their eyebrows but… well, let’s just say I know a few men who could benefit from a little eyebrow brushing too.
3. Computer cleaner. Mascara wands are great for getting into hard to reach keyboard cracks both on your laptop and your desktop at home.
4. Mini perfume applicator. Once your mascara tube is clean, you can fill it with your favorite perfume or cologne and use it when you travel. Sure beats carrying the full bottle of your favorite scent and it’ll easily get through airport security in your liquids bag.
