When you tell someone that you want to be a photographer, their tendency is to say something passive, like: “Oh, ok,” or “You mean as a hobby, right?” What a lot of people don’t understand, I think, is that some of us need to do something fun and creative with our lives. And if that’s missing, we feel lost. That’s what the Breakfast Stock Club is for… so that we can join together as a group and find our way with positive reinforcement from others who share our passion. To that end, I’m ready to take my skills to the next level. I know how to sell simple photos as stock. Shelly Perry, Lise Gagne, Andrea Gingerich, and Danny Warren taught me that and I’ve then passed the secrets they’ve shared on to you.  (And as your fellow readers have all proven through the success stories they’ve shared each week: You can do this with little or no training.) But what I’d like to do now is immerse myself in my photography completely — so that it fulfills that creative drive I feel to express myself with something other than words. So, I’m taking a three-month sabbatical to attend an intensive summer photography program in Montana. Most people can’t drop everything and pour themselves into such a long (and expensive) program. But I’m at a stage in my life right now where I can. And I want to. Because when you find something that you love to do, life is too short to put it off! Don’t worry, though: You will still hear from me in these weekly BSC issues. And Breakfast Stock Club Premium members will still get monthly Challenges, lessons, and reviews right on schedule. Nothing will change except that, occasionally, Premium members will also get to hear from stock photographer Danny Warren, who will be helping me out while I’m gone. Danny will be manning the Breakfast StockClub Facebook page, too. And then I’ll be back at the end of August… with a huge list of things I want to show you. I can’t wait! [Editor’s Note: Learn more about how you can turn your pictures into cash in our free online newsletter The Right Way to Travel.  Sign up here today and we’ll send you a new report, Selling Photos for Cash: A Quick-Start Guide, completely FREE.] Your Weekly Breakfast Dish The latest from your Breakfast StockClub Facebook Page The Breakfast StockClub Facebook page is quiet this week! I hope that means you’re out shooting. Here’s a question to spice things up a bit: What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to photograph, but never have? Share your answer on the Breakfast StockClub Facebook page.
