Make a new habit this year: travel more
If I had to guess, I’d say your New Year’s resolution this year included at least one of the following: losing weight, getting organized, saving money.
But I hope that’s not the case.
It’s said that 46% of all New Year’s resolutions made at the start of January will be broken by the end of these first 31 days. Big changes like losing weight, getting organized, and saving money involve big changes to daily routines. And daily routines are hard to break because you’re used to doing them… well, daily.
So this year, I say stay just as you are. And instead, change the way you make changes.
Studies show that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. So, starting today and moving forward for the next 21 days, I want you to change your daily routine and make a new habit.
Get up early if that’s your resolution. And do it for 21 days.
Go to the gym if you want to exercise more or lose weight. And do it for 21 days.
Do whatever it is you want to do for 21 days straight and you’ll create a new habit. And travel works the same way.
Travel isn’t a goal. It’s not a luxury you can’t afford. And it’s certainly not something I want you to write down on a scrap of paper and forget about 31 days from now.
Travel is a motivator. It’s a reward. And it’s a pretty darn good one.
