Traveling is one of my favorite things to do.  I love finding weird and quirky things in all the places I go.

So when I realized I could get paid to send someone my weird and quirky finds and help them explore the best parts of all the cities I’ve been, I felt like I was earning money for something I’d gladly do for fun.

Today, this is one of the nine microgigs I get paid for.  I send travel itineraries to the people who want them.

I’m in Orlando, FL this week traveling with the kids and I love that I can still do these gigs from the road.  I can stop them if I want.  But they’re just as easy to keep going when I can get them done before my husband and kids even get out of bed.

Yesterday, I sent you a note from Holly Cochran about funding a trip to Northern California with the money she made from her microgigs.  I’ll send you a second story tomorrow from another woman who is making good money this way, too.  You’ll see that each of their gigs vary – some are based on writing and musical skills and others are much simpler, like making short posts on Facebook and Twitter.

When I first read about opportunity in the New York Times, USA Today, and Fast Company, I thought: There’s no way people are making real money at this.

But then the New York Post and ABC picked up the trend and now I’ve found all sorts of people making good money through these microgigs.

I even started doing them myself.

They’re SUPER EASY.  And they’re fast.  I can finish most of my gigs in 30 minutes or less.

You can read about some of the other wacky gigs that exist (like how to get paid to sing messages to cats, how to sell your travel itineraries, how to get paid to make wake-up calls), here.
